Abstract

The digital landscape is growing at a speed beyond imagination, that not only enables technology innovation to a greater degree but at the same time virtually brings about cybersecurity challenges to enterprises. This paper focuses on the issue of new cybersecurity threats and their link to risk and vulnerability management. The authors carry out a comprehensive study with the aim of discovering the methodologies, current trends that are currently the most effective tools that are used to stop such threats from happening. The objective of the paper is to present a detailed analysis of the complexities that are encountered in the process of the management ofcybersecurity risks by revealing the latest trends, methodologies and tools used to mitigate these threats. The extensive use of cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI) by organizations brings to light new vulnerabilities that call for new kinds of risk management. The study has stressed on the fact that proactive, and flexible management of risk is extremely needed for keeping right the cybersecurity defenses in the fluid threat landscape of today.
